The Pilgrim
As the evening dawns
We assemble in the city of death
And listen to the silent oracle
Words remembered, lines forgotten
We share our muses and our wine
Beyond the gates of paradise
In a forest of smoking candles
And dying roses
We are lost
When the doors finally close
And we are expelled from the dusk
We roam the world for another day
Until we return
To dust.
