The Day They Tore Down The Wall
The day they tore down the wall
I was standing on the right side
And she was standing at the other
We saw the hammers flashing through the air
Killing the pale concrete
We saw the VOPOs and the Allies kissing each other
I guess they knew it was the wrong river
The wrong time
They just didn't care
We saw the snow falling on the roses
The dark roses I had given her
So long ago
Their bodies had withered
Their colors had faded away
As time had mummified us all
Heart by heart
Now my feet could crush the bricks to sand
And the roses could bud again
As I watched her walking away
Leaving me
Roaming among the ruins
Of my illusion
